Terrorists Infiltration Alerts in Rajasthan

Rajasthan has been put on alert following intelligence inputs that a group of 15 terror suspects, trained in using AK 47 and putting together Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs), can intrude into the country from Pakistan and carry out terror strikes. As some districts of the state share boundaries with Pakistan, the alert is being taken seriously here. The Rajasthan ATS has written a letter to all range IGs and district SPs asking them to be on alert following the input.

Police have been asked to increase vigilance at sensitive places in border areas, bus stands and railway stations among others. Orders have also been issued to keep a sharp vigil on anti-social elements and smugglers. Moreover, a high alert has been sounded at the international border.

According to officials, the superintendent of Rajasthan ATS issued an alert to all SPs, range headquarters, GRP that a group of 15 terrorists could intrude into India and could blast bombs at crowded places.

Sharma said instructions have been given to keep watch on hotels, rest houses and to regularly check them during the ongoing Ramdeora fair. Till now, 30 lakh devotees have visited Ramdeora and 2 to 3 lakh devotees are coming daily.
