Swine Flu: Death toll climbs to 142

In the last 48 hours Twelve more people succumbed to swine flu in different parts of Rajasthan, with this the death toll climbs to 142 since January this year a senior official of the Medical and Health Directorate said.

Three persons yesterday succumbed at SMS hospital, two died in Jodhpur‘s government hospital, and the remaining seven died in parts of Rajasthan yesterday, the Medical and Health Director Dr B K Meena told PTI here on Sunday.

Out of 1,881 patients tested positive for the virus, 142 have died in the state this year, he said.

So far, Jaipur has reported 23 deaths due to the H1N1 virus, maximum in the state, followed by Ajmer 22, Barmer and Jodhpur 13 each, Nagaur 12, Kota 8, Chittorgarh 7, Banswara 6, and five to one at many places in the state since January this year.
