Rajasthan received 346.33 mm rainfall in the last two months, which is 38.91 per cent more than the corresponding months last year, according to a data of Water Resources Department.
From June 1 to July 31, the average normal rainfall in Rajasthan was 346.33 mm as against 249.38 mm last year in the same months, which is 38.91 per cent excess, an official of Water Resources Department said quoting a fortnightly assessment on Monday.
Sriganganagar and Sirohi districts fell under the deficit category where the maximum rainfall was below (minus) 20 per cent.
Abnormal rainfall, over 60 per cent, was recorded in four districts of Kota, Baran, Jhalawar, and Pratapgarh.
Whereas excess rainfall, up to 60 per cent occurred in 16 districts of Churu, Jodhpur, Barmer, Bhilwara, Tonk, Dholpur, Karauli, Alwar, Swaimadhopur, Dausa, Bundi, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur and Rajsamand.
Normal rainfall up to 19 per cent was recorded in 11 districts of Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Pali, Ajmer, Nagaur, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, and Sikar.
Following heavy rains and arrival of water in catchment areas, out of 724 dams (small, medium and big), 108 were full, 257 still empty, and four did not receive rainy water in the state.
