Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today said his government will soon announce a relief package for victims of Uttarakhand calamity.

Families affected directly in the Uttarakhand flood havoc and landslide would be given relief packages and on this a detailed survey would be conducted, Gehlot told reporters after a cabinet meeting.

The Chief Minister, who spent a few days in Uttarakhand said, a list of missing people was being prepared there and then the state government would take necessary action.

On state BJP’s move to collect donations for Uttarakhand victims, Gehlot said, “The party is guilty conscious as it could not do anything so far. It has no strength.”

On direct cash transfer to BPL families and other beneficiaries, Gehlot said it was Centre’s move to ensure that money reach directly to the poor.

A major campaign to provide 5 lakh cycles to students and 1.11 lakh laptops to beneficiaries would start from July 15, Gehlot said, adding it was as per budgetary provisions.

On shifting of location of a refinery from Leelala to Pachpadra as decided by the state Task Force recently, Gehlot said, “HPCL has come forward and the plan is taking shape, we all should welcome it. There was a proposal of 4.5 million ton of oil refinery and petro-chemical project, now it would be 9 million tonnes. Every location will give employment to the state”.
