As the Rajasthan Assembly Elections are slated later this year, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi seems to be hell-bent on ensuring victory in the western state.

Days after Rahul addressed a rally at Udaipur on September 11, the Gandhi scion will address a public meeting in Baran district of Rajasthan on Tuesday.

Congress sources said Rahul Gandhi will address the rally at Krishi Upaj Mandi ground in Baran around 2 pm.

The poll bound state is expected to witness fierce battle between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as it is seen as a litmus test for both the parties ahead of 2014 General Elections.

Rajasthan is to elect its 200-member Assembly before the end of the year as the term of the present House ends on December 31.

Sources said Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will also visit the state over the next few days.

Rajasthan is one of five states heading for the Assembly polls by the end of this year.
