Mytrah Energy Commissions First Stage of Indian Wind Farm in Rajasthan

Indian renewable power generator Mytrah Energy has commissioned the first phase of a wind farm in Bhesada, Rajasthan ahead of plan.

It said the 50 megawatt project will involve installing 24 Suzlon wind turbine generators of 2.1 megawatts each.

Phase one of the scheme, which starts production immediately, includes an initial 16.8 megawatts with the rest following ahead of the 2016 wind season.

Including this new capacity, Mytrah’s wind power portfolio has increased to 560 megawatts across six Indian states Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The project is the first of 200 megawatts of new wind power capacity expected to be added before the 2016 wind season.

Chairman and chief executive Ravi Kailas said: The commissioning of this wind energy project, well ahead of our original plan, is a strong demonstration of our execution capability.
