With the flagging off of Kota-Jhalawar passenger train on Friday, Jhalawar will get rail connectivity for the first time.

The train’s inauguration had been pending for quite some time because of a dispute between two ministers over who will flag off the train.

Earlier, MP Ijyaraj Singh was scheduled to flag off the train while Member of Parliament from Jhalawar Dushyant Singh was to receive the train in Jhalawar. However, Dushyant Singh objected to the decision saying since his mother and former MP from Jhalawar Vasundhara Raje had worked hard on this project he should be allowed to flag off the train. Railway authorities have found a resolution. Ijyaraj Singh will flag off the train at June 21 at 7am in Kota. Dushyant Singh will flag off the train during its return journey from Jhalawar at 9.45pm. Senior divisional railway manager Kota Railway Division Narendra Panwar said the train will have seven coaches. The train will run between the two stations twice a day.
