JDA to takes land from encroachers

On Monday the Jaipur Development Authority takes a important step against land encroachers. JDA took possession of 37 bighas and 7 biswa of prime land under the Urban Land Ceiling and Regulation Act from private holders as it was registered in the civic body’s name.

Officials claimed that the price of the prime land is estimated to be Rs 1,000 crore, it is situated at Gandhi Path, Vaishali Nagar.

The civic body razed seven marriage gardens, 45 shops, two houses and other structures including a temple situated on the land.

The operation started after the land owners failed to get relief from the high court. To keep protesters at bay, nearly 2,000 police personnel were deployed in the area. Other than this, huge machinery including 26 earthmovers, 60 tractors and trolleys and 180 laborers were used during the drive.

Under the Urban Land (Ceiling & Regulation) Act, the land is registered with JDA. The drive was carried out after issuing notices to the marriage garden owners”, an officer said.

As per JDA records, 37 bighas falling in khasra number – 193, 193/248 was encroached by Roshan Paradise, Roshan Marriage Garden, Shyaam Marriage Garden, Shri Krishna and Hanuman Vatika, Sainath Marriage Garden and an unmanned marriage garden.
