The Russian troops carried out live firing practice with tanks and infantry combat vehicles in the ongoing exercise INDRA 2013 which entered its fourth day on Wednesday. “The main attraction of the exercise is “tank firing competition” which will take place on Thursday. Both the Indian and Russian troops are excited about it,” defence spokesman Col SD Goswami said.

He added that the mechanized infantry components of the Russian and Indian contingent participated in the small arms firing competition held at a newly constructed firing range of the South Western Command Headquarters. In the evening, a volleyball match was held to enhance a spirit of sports and camaraderie between troops of the two nations, Goswami said. Indian brigade commander and his Russian counterpart gave away prizes to the teams.
