ICC Gives Nod to BCCI Decision for IPL in Dubai

Board of Control for Cricket in India had decided that the first part of the IPL 2014 should be started in Dubai for which the International Cricket Council have given the green signal. The Chief Executive of ICC, David Richardson backed the BCCI’s decision to take the million-dollar league to the Arab nations.

The decision taken by BCCI will make this IPL season more remarkable and will be a great news for the people of the UAE and the region. It will complete a remarkable season of cricket in the UAE, which has already seen the successful staging of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier and the U19 Cricket World Cup,” the ICC said in a statement.

Former South African cricketer Richardson, who is based in the UAE at the ICC headquarters in Dubai, also assured of providing all the necessary helps to successfully conduct the IPL.

“Recognising the importance of the integrity of the competition, the ICC will provide its full support for the matches in the UAE, including through the provision of anti-corruption services.
