The Amber Fort in Jaipur is a favourite with filmmakers and TV serial producers alike when it comes to shooting historical or mythological sequences. And now, the fort is soon going to witness the shoot of another epic – this time, the Mahabharata.

We have learnt from reliable sources that a shooting schedule for an upcoming telly show, Mahabharat, has been planned in the city, within the precincts of the fort.

According to a source associated with the show, “The cast and crew of the show, being helmed by Siddharth Kumar Tewary, will head to the Pink City to shoot either by the end of August or in the first week of September. They are planning to shoot the introduction sequence of the Kauravas and Pandavas at Amber Fort.”

At present, the team is also scouting for locations on the outskirts of Jaipur to shoot some war scenes. “The makers want to shoot in the city because it provides the perfect setting for the show. Also, the weather will be pleasant around that time,” says the source, adding that actors like Shaheer Sheikh (who’s playing Arjun), Rohit Bhardwaj (playing Yudhisthira) and Arav Chowdhary (as Bhishma Pitamah) will be present in the city.

The show, which is expected to go on air mid-September onwards, has earlier had shooting schedules in Kashmir and Jaisalmer.
