Ajmer is been taken as a hot constituency seat in Rajasthan as the its representative Union Minister Sachin Pilot has been elected as Congress State Head . Both BJP and Congress are keen to win Ajmer area. BJP want to give the final attack to congress in Rajasthan after a stupendous win in Assembly Election.

According to BJP sources, defeating the Congress state chief was the actual important thing for the ruling BJP than winning the Ajmer Lok Sabha seat, especially when Pilot was considering to change his constituency.

Sources said Pilot was planning to move to the neighboring Tonk-Sawai Madhopur seat, which is held by union minister Namo Narayan Meena. Under such a scenario, Meena would be shifted to Dausa. The choice of venue-Deoli near Tonk-for Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to launch the election campaign in the state has strengthened this belief. Pilot is close to Rahul.

BJP is counting Ajmer among its safest seats and is planning to declare its candidate only after the Congress has decided about Pilot. Sources said Dharmendra Gehlot (backed by the RSS), Rasa Singh Rawat and B P Saraswat were leading the race for BJP’s ticket from Ajmer.
